Our Skills for Creative Industries course is designed for those who are looking to kickstart a career in digital, with additional industry accredited qualifications in Website Design & Development and Digital & IT Skills available on completion.

Whether you’re changing careers, or just looking for a fresh start, the course will introduce you to a wide range of creative, digital and tech skills that will help you discover what you enjoy, build your confidence, and find your place in the growing digital industry.

The units on the programme cover multiple aspects and introduces various specialisms in digital, including games design, website development, digital photography and more.

One learner who recently completed the programme is Emma from Merseyside, who took the time to leave us her feedback about her experience on the programme.

Emma's story

Emma joined our Skills for Creative Industries programme to gain an insight into the possible routes and careers that are available in this industry. She began her feedback by listing just some of the skills she was able to gain for the first time on the course and how her knowledge increased as a result of both the theoretical and practical tasks she was given to complete.

I enjoyed studying the course and learning about digital photography, photo editing software, games design and development, programming, website design and more about opportunities within the creative industries. I now have more knowledge of the topics that were part of the creative industries.

Overcoming challenges

Emma also described how she had struggled to get to grips with some of the content of the course at first, but received support and guidance from her Tutor throughout to help with this.

I found some of the questions on the assignments quite hard to answer, and I had got mixed up on certain questions. But with continuous support from my Tutor, I was able to get top grades. They also went through every question on the assignments in detail, and left me a note under every question to let me know which bits I needed to add more to or amend.

Improved confidence

Emma concluded her feedback by explaining how her overall confidence improved by the end of the course, and also revealed her plans to get into web design now that she’s gained three industry-accredited qualifications.

I had to take part in activities with other members of the course, which was something I didn’t have the confidence doing initially. But after doing the course every day for 6 weeks, I felt I didn’t feel embarrassed to be talking in front of everyone else in front of a camera.

I enjoyed studying this course, and now plan to continue learning more about computers and website design, so I can eventually get a job as a Website Designer.

Congratulations Emma, and the very best of luck for the future!
