Our Level 3 Information & Digital Technologies course is designed to accelerate your understanding of computer programming, with an introduction to mobile app development and emerging digital technologies.
As part of this course, you’ll complete several units that cover a wide range of skills and programming principles, as well as computing mathematics and cybersecurity.
The course is delivered in a virtual classroom, so you will need access to a laptop/computer with an internet connection to complete the course.
On completion of the course, you’ll receive an industry-recognised Level 3 qualification in Information & Digital Technologies.
As part of the course, you’ll complete the following key units:
This unit and unit 2 will ultimately enable you to complete unit 6. The underpinning knowledge of Computer Programming will allow you to be more comfortable with the learning objectives in the units to come, identifying procedures to follow when designing a computer programme.
Continuing from unit 1, this will give you a greater understanding of programming concepts and the mathematics involved when creating computer programmes using logical methods and problem-solving skills.
This unit will introduce you to the concept of cyber security and how it is extremely important when building a personal and business presence on the internet. This will be the foundation for moving onto the Web Development unit, ensuring protocols are met to ensure your website is secure from cyber attacks.
This unit focuses on why digital skills are important and how they complement our everyday lives, with the integrated technology and software we use to achieve our daily business and personal goals, as well as acknowledging the new emerging technologies which will complement our lives in the future, such as automated systems, self-driving cars, medical procedures completed by AI and robots.
This unit will introduce you to the concept of creating a presence on the internet and how it will benefit your company or personal achievements (such as a digital portfolio of previous accomplishments). You will also understand how to create a robust and secure website, that is viewable on multiple devices.
The last unit on the course is creating a mobile application, where you will apply your knowledge of HTML coding, programming and security from previous units. You will design and build a mobile app, including testing and delivery.
