TRAIN TO BECOME A COUNSELLOR
Our Level 3 Counselling course is designed to introduce you to a career working as a counsellor, with a key focus on developing the skills you’ll need, as well as the theoretical approaches, ethical practices and diversity issues to be aware of.
Counselling services play a crucial part in our society, and help individuals to address and overcome their personal challenges. There is a growing demand for qualified counsellors in the UK, yet despite this, there are reports of shortages in qualified therapists within the NHS, with some sources suggesting thousands fewer than needed.
As part of this course, you’ll complete several units that cover a wide range of skills needed to become a counsellor.
The course is delivered in a virtual classroom, so you will need access to a laptop/computer with an internet connection to complete the course.
On completion of the course, you’ll receive an industry-recognised Level 3 qualification in Counselling.

COURSE CONTENT & KEY UNITS
As part of the course, you’ll complete the following key units:
In this unit, you will have an opportunity to identify, practise and develop a range of interpersonal and counselling skills. On completion, you will be aware of the skills required to initiate, maintain and conclude a counselling skills interaction.
In this next unit, you will have an opportunity to understand and evaluate key elements of the main theoretical approaches to counselling.
In this unit, you will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the context within which counselling skills and referral processes can be
used whilst maintaining ethical standards.
This unit is designed to give you an opportunity to appreciate the implications of applying counselling skills in a diverse society.
In this final unit, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your own personal development and the way in which you interact with others.
ELIGIBILITY
- Age 19+
- Unemployed
- UK/EU resident for 3+ years
- Good standard of Maths and English
- Good communication skills
- Committed and willing to learn

- Duration: 25.5 days
- Delivered during weekdays, 9am – 5pm
- Study is 100% online
- Access to a PC/Laptop will be required
